FabBond® Layer Bonding Creates Crisp, Resilient Costume Fabric for The Radio City Rockettes

SUMMARY: The Radio City Rockettes needed special costume fabric for their wooden soldier costumes to be used in their Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. They sent their fabric and a custom foam backing to FabricBack for processing.

As you can probably imagine, The Radio City Rockettes require their costumes to be able to withstand quite a bit of wear and tear. Repeated washings, numerous performances, quick backstage costume changes, and rough handling can easily ruin an outfit. But the costumes used in any performance by The Rockettes ALWAYS look great. It's no accident.

In order to make their chosen fabric suitable for use in their wooden soldier costumes, the costume designers for The Rockettes knew they needed to reinforce it. Our FabBond® Layer Bonding service was the perfect answer. They sent their fabric to our facility in Atlanta, along with a custom foam backing that needed to be permanently bonded to the backside of the fabric.

Our technical team was able to give them just what they wanted. The finished costume fabric was able to hold its shape and remain crisp and firm. The durable fabric was ready to be crafted into the finished costumes that looked so magical on The Rockettes, as you can see in the photo above. Despite the abuse that these costumes received throughout the performances of The Christmas Spectacular, they continued to look great each and every time they were used.
