ADVANTAGES OF KNIT-BACKING UPHOLSTERY FABRICS

The Purpose of applying Knit-Backing , FabBack® to upholstery fabric is to add body, resiliency, and durability while eliminating seam slippage. Knit-Backing makes light to mid-weight fabrics such as silks, cotton, linens, polyesters, and chenille more suitable for upholstery use. BENEFITS OF KNIT-BACKING UPHOLSTERY LEATHER

Many clients are under the impression that natural and Vegan/Faux leather does not need Knit-Backing for upholstery due to the strength of the material. Although Faux and Natural leather are materials with full-body, both share a property that can compromise the longevity of your upholstered furniture…stretching. With that being said, you need to be careful when using vegan leather for upholstery as it can crack when trying to stretch it too much.

Our Knit-Backing material provides support and flexibility to faux leather while undergoing the upholstery process and beyond as it protects the faux leather from stretching and cracking with daily use. Natural leather will stretch a great deal more than the Vegan and therefore, would also benefit greatly from Knit-Backing as it will reduce overstretching from lying down and sitting which eventually will lead to pouches and dents on the furniture. OUR KNIT-BACKING IS GENTLE ON THE FABRIC

Our proprietary FabBack®, Knit-Backing application consists of permanently bonding a knitted poly/cotton thin fabric to the back of fabrics making it easier to work with, adding strength and stability without changing the feel or integrity of the fabric or leather. GREENSHIELD® PROTECTS SURFACES FROM VIRUSES SUCH AS COVID-19

GreenShield ® creates a surface that repels water and oil-based materials, including viruses such as COVID-19 which has an oily lipid outer layer. If any virus comes in contact with a material treated with GreenShield® C6XL, the virus will roll off the surface of the fabric/material; making it impossible to adhere to the material.
