Our Two-Steps To Wallcovering Perfection
Step 1: Fire Protection & Transformation We start by treating your fabric with  FlameGard®, our proprietary exclusive fire-retardant formula. Then, we apply a specially engineered non-woven backing that’s inherently flame-resistant, turning the fabric into a wallcovering-ready material that meets ASTM E-84 Fire Code standards.
Step 2: Built - In Stain & Moisture Protection
Next, we apply GreenGard® , an invisible finish that penetrates the fibers to repel moisture, liquids, and stains including those from adhesive during installation without altering the fabric’s look or feel. This treatment preserves the hand of the fabric, beauty and durability of your wallcovering for the long haul.
We provide a Certificate of Application to our customers confirming the fabric has been treated and complies with ASTM E84 Fire Code.

What You Need to Know About ASTM-E84Â Fire Marshall Compliance & Testing
Fire safety laws and building codes started as early as 1631 in the US, first issued in Boston prohibiting the construction of wooden chimneys and thatched roofs in order to mitigate fire risks. In modern times, safety laws in construction have been adopted by most states for installations such as wallcoverings in public spaces like hotels, lobbies, offices, and restaurants.
More and more U.S. states now require fire-rated wallcoverings for residential installations as well as part of their local building codes. Even in states where it is not mandatory many families are making the personal choice to fire-rate wallcoverings especially for nurseries, playrooms, children’s bedrooms and high-traffic living areas, as an added layer of safety.
The testing for interior walls and ceiling applications is a strenuous process conducted by specialized laboratories in a Steiner Tunnel Chamber take a look. We can prepare any test samples and send them to the lab of your choice or we can recommend one for you.
